Cookie policy

The short version

The Prophet Years sets no advertising cookies and no tracking pixels. Analytics (Google Analytics) is off by default and only runs if you switch it on yourself in the cookie banner. The only thing stored on your device by default is the choice you make in the banner.

What is actually stored

Name	Type	Purpose	Lifetime
tp_consent	First-party, strictly necessary	Remembers your cookie choices (embeds, analytics), so the banner does not reappear. Holds a choice, not an identifier.	6 months
wordpress_*, wp-settings-*	First-party, strictly necessary	Set by WordPress only if you log in to the site as an editor. Ordinary visitors never receive them.	Session to 1 year
Provider cookies from YouTube or Vimeo	Third-party, optional	Set by the video provider once you choose to load a player. Governed by the provider’s own policy.	Set by the provider
Google Analytics (_ga and related)	Third-party, optional	Set only if you switch on “Analytics” in the cookie banner. Anonymised, used to see which pages and products are visited. Governed by Google’s own policy.	Set by the provider

Consent

Strictly necessary items are exempt from consent under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive and Belgian electronic-communications law. Everything else is off until you switch it on. You can change your mind at any time using the cookie button at the bottom left of every page.

Refusing is easy

Choosing “Essential only” leaves the site fully usable. Video players stay behind a click and each one asks before it loads.
